Kribensis
Fish code No.1303
The Kribensis is one of the most well known of the smaller cichlids and is an excellent addition to most community aquariums to offer something a little different. The aquarium should be well planted with plenty of hiding spots and a few cave-like areas to encourage spawning. Watching these fish pair, spawn, and raise a group of young fry is a very rewarding experience and a well-recommended aim for any fishkeeper. Selecting a male and female does not guarantee a pair as the females can be quite picky and if the male is not 'up to scratch' she may aggressively chase him. Ideally, pick out a known pair, or a group of young fish and allow a pair to form naturally. An interesting aquarium fish
