code No. 0308

The Otocinclus is the best all rounder for small algae eaters; they are peaceful, will not harm plants, and can be kept with a wide range of fish sizes. The ideal tank for these fish would be a heavily planted environment with small, peaceful tankmates. There are a number of species of Otocinclus and a similar, but slightly yellow/brown species O. affinis is also often seen for sale. If natural algae is not available, suppliment the fish's diet with algae tablets or vegetable based foods.
