This red-leaved stem plant can be found in many different leaf forms and different shades of colour. The leaf top-side may vary from an olive-green to brown whilst the underside is a pink-red colour. A good source of iron will help to intensify the red colour. The plant is easy to care for if given the right conditions which include strong lighting and a good iron-rich substrate. In larger aquaria the plant should be used in small well-spaced groups placed around the centre of the aquarium. The red-leaves make the plant a good contrasting and focal specimen.
Syn: A. Rosaefolia
