The spade-shaped 8-12cm leaves and longer stalks give this anubias a much tidier appearance although it is harder to care for than other anubias. This plant does best when allowed to grow above the waters surface and when given plenty of nutrients. The substrate should be fairly loose and contain iron-rich fertiliser. In good conditions this is an attractive and dominant plant which makes a good addition to any planted aquarium. For the best effect, give the plant plenty of room amongst smaller foreground plants.
