This tiny Echinodorus sp. will spread and create a lawn-like appearance across the foreground if given good conditions. Provide bright lighting and a fine and/or nutrient rich substrate. Many specimens sold exhibit the terrestrial leaf form (pictured) which are oval-shaped and on short stems. The terrestrial form may lose all its leaves whilst growing new aquatic leaves when placed underwater. The aquatic leaf form is more elongated and needle-like without the distinctive oval shape.
