This plant is found in a variety of forms which differ in leaf shape and colour. A wide, round-leafed form is most commonly available which sports a light-olive green-brown colour on the leaf surface and a reddish colour on the underside. The plant is highly adaptable and fast growing, as it reaches the surface, leaves will become more compact and the stem will grow horizontally across the surface, producing an attractive overhead view. A number of root-like shoots are produced from the leaf nodes. Regular pruning will keep the plant tidy and healthy.
