This plant is often confused with Hygrophila corymbosa although the leaves are fleshier and less rigid than H. corymbosa. The leaves of this plant can be up to 12-14cm long so allow adequate space between stems when planting. New shoots will rapidly grow to the surface where they may produce leaves above water. Airborne leaves are thinner, more robust and jagged along the edges. The plant is relatively adaptable and easy to care for. Can be kept in unheated aquaria.
