This plant is almost identical to the Hornwort (C. demersum) although it has a finer leaf structure and is lighter in colour. As with C. demersum this plant can be used either as a floating plant or an upright stem plant although roots are not produced so planting has no benefit to the plant. As a floating plant it will create a dense mat on the surface which is ideal for young fry or small fish to hide amongst. The plant is easy to care for and has no special requirements except for regular trimming to keep a tidy appearance. Can be kept in unheated aquariums
