This tropical lily is ideal for use as a display species in larger aquaria or as a centrepiece in small aquaria. The leaves will grow up to 20cm in length and if left to spread, will reach the surface quickly where they will float and provide shade in the aquarium. The plant can be kept compact and submerged by continual pruning of larger leaves and/or floating leaves and with bright lighting. The roots of established plants will spread rapidly through the substrate and may be trimmed to keep the plant from spreading. The 'zenkeri' variety pictured has variable patches of red-brown to purple colour, the normal variety is green
