This unusually shaped aquarium plant does well in bright light and looks best when kept in well spaced groups of 4-5 stems. The leaf shape is dictated by aquarium temperature; at lower temperatures the leaves are thicker and smaller, at higher temperatures they are larger and more divided. The leaves are large, up to 10cm in length so adequate space is a must. If the plants receive too little light then lower leaves may drop off and spacing between leaves is increased.
