Maidenhead Aquatics at Peterborough is actually situated in Crowland, about 8 miles outside the city. Our store is located inside one of the largest Wyevale garden centres, so if you pay us a visit there will be plenty of other things to see. As part of the Maidenhead group, we are a dedicated aquatic retailer and all our staff are extensively trained to provide you with the best advice. Our fish stocks are kept on dedicated systems with excellent filtration and water quality, so you can be assured that the fish you purchase are in top condition.

Alongside a wide selection of 'bread and butter' fish, we have an excellent range of loaches, African cichlids, softwater fish & discus, and many unusual 'L number' catfish. Our marine and invert stocks are larger than most stores and we always have a wide selection of marine fish, corals, and inverts. Our outdoor section, which is only closed during the winter months, has everything you could need for your pond including a wide range of pond plants and lilies and water features. In our indoor pond vats we have a large selection of pond fish and on our dedicated koi system we have a good selection of koi, which are hand selected and raised on our own farm so you can be assured of healthy stock.

Unlike many shops, we will not sell you fish which are unsuitable for aquarium life, or are ethically debatable such as genetically modified fish, dyed fish or fish which grow too large for home aquariums. Because our staff are all fishkeepers themselves, we can give you the best advice on every species for sale in the store.

Alongside our livestock, we have all the dry goods and equipment you should ever need including an extensive range of aquarium styles and pond pumps, which are often heavily reduced. All our pond pumps and filtration systems are below retail price and many are up to half price.


At the weekends we can become quite busy so if you want to spend a little time with us discussing your needs, we recommend visiting us during the week, or if this is not possible, Saturday mornings are usually best.



We pride ourselves above all else on giving correct and accurate advise, even if it means loosing a sale. We believe that if we look after your needs, then you will return to us again and again. Most of our new customers come from personal recommendations, which can only be a good sign! In fact, several of our regular customers travel quite a distance to see us and we are always worth a visit, if only to see our display aquariums, which include a 8x3x3 foot reef system! Our staff are all trained and are fishkeepers themselves so there will always be someone available to answer your questions.
