Coolie Loach (Pangio kuhlii)

Coolie Loach Tropical Fish Learn all about the Coolie Loach's feeding habits and food types, its behaviour, its origins, its natural habitats, is it male or female, breeding advice and information, suitable tank mates, its sizing and growth range, minimum tank size, water PH and more. Use our fish community creator tool to plan your tank set up and ensure that the Coolie Loach is the right fish for your aquarium.

The Coolie Loach is often popular due to its unusual body shape and swimming patterns. Although it is peaceful and adaptable, once in the aquarium it is rarely seen, preferring to hide burrowed during the day and only come out at night. Because of this, its usefulness as an aquarium fish is debatable. Provide a fine or sandy bottom and plenty of hiding spots amongst plants, rocks and wood. Prefers soft water.
