The Kuhli Loach is often popular due to its unusual body shape and swimming patterns. It is peaceful and adaptable, however if kept in insufficient numbers it is rarely seen, preferring to hide burrowed during the day and only come out at night. If kept in larger numbers, it will be more active and more visible during the day. Provide a fine or sandy bottom and plenty of hiding spots amongst plants, rocks and wood. Prefers soft water.
Pangio kuhlii and Pangio myersi are both sold as kuhlies and are both common in our tanks. A third species, the ‘Black Kuhli’, Pangio oblonga, is also very common.
