Bioload
The bioload is the amount of 'biological load' placed upon a particular ecosystem, or in fishkeeping terms, on the aquarium environment.
Biological load is created through normal metabolism process and is the collective waste products or substances produced by all the organisms in the environment.
In the case of aquariums, it is the collective wastes produced by all the fish, which has to be processed by the filtration. For instance it could be said that overstocking an aquarium will increase the bioload above the capacity of the filter, causing a decline in water conditions.
